FAQ

My doctor has ordered lab tests.  What's next?
Your physician can fax your lab test order to Metro's Central Scheduling at (563) 324-2012.  Then, no matter what Metropolitan Medical Laboratory, PLC site you decide to visit, we can access your test order.  Alternatively, your physician may give you a written order which can be taken to any Metro site.

Do I need an appointment?
No.  Just stop in at any one of our Patient Service Centers at a time that is convenient for you.  Most of the time, you should be in and out in less than 20 minutes.  If you're concerned about time, you're welcome to call ahead and ask about wait time.  On customer satisfaction surveys, our staff earns consistently high marks for both skill and courtesy.  Our highly-trained staff will take extra special care to give you the "Quality You Expect and the Service You Deserve".

What insurances are accepted?
Metropolitan Medical Laboratory, PLC is pleased to be "in network" with virtually all insurances.

Can I pay my bill online?
Yes.

I've heard that Metro is the Quad City area's "best-kept secret".  Why?
Metro employs over 500 Quad City residents, to include 15 board-certified pathologists (several with fellowship training and published research).  Almost 3 million tests are billed annually.  98% of all tests ordered are performed locally, and the rest are sent to quality laboratories such as Mayo, ARUP, and others.  What does this mean for Quad City residents?  A whole lot of expertise right in your own back yard.

We're a physician's office that is considering an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System.  What should we do next?
Contact us as soon as you start looking.  We can interface directly to your EMR to transmit lab test results and receive lab test orders.
