1 serum separator tube (SST) or 2 ml serum for HBsAg and Anti-HCV and 1 EDTA tube for rapid HIV 1/2
A needlestick is defined by CDC follows:
- Percutaneous innoculation with a needle or any instrument contaminated with patient blood or saliva, or
- Patient blood or saliva contact with an open wound, non-intact skin or mucous membrane.

Reactive HBV Surface Antigen will reflex HBV Surface Antigen Confirmation (#30003)
Reactive/indeterminate result for HCV will reflex HCV RNA
Detection/Quanitation and enough sample is available. If not enough sample, #30081 HCV RIBA will reflex.
Positive results for rapid HIV are sent for confirmatory testing at an additional charge.

Non-refrigerated specimens over 8 hours old.
Non-separated specimens over 8 hours old.
Lipemic specimens.
Hemolyzed specimens.
